Conference: Genomics of Forest and Ecosystem Health in the Fagaceae Hits: 2056

The conference on "Genomics of Forest and Ecosystem Health in the Fagaceae" took place in Raleigh (USA) from November 10th to 13th, 2009.

The purpose of the conference was to review the status of recent genomic and genetic discoveries in the Fagaceae as they relate to forest and ecosystem health. The Fagaceae are an important group of forest trees distributed widely across the northern hemisphere. The conference focussed on three genera, Castanea (chestnuts), Quercus (oaks) and Fagus (beeches).

One of the main outcomes of the conference was the sharing and exchange of genomic resources among the European and US groups. Participation to the conference was supported by dissemination activity SEA4 (for EVOLTREE members).
