Course in automated functional Annotation and Data Mining
From Monday, 28. September 2009
To Wednesday, 30. September 2009

This is the first international course in automated functional annotation and data mining.

The course will teach on the principals and practical aspects of automated functional annotation of (novel) sequence data making use of the bioinformatics suite Blast2GO. Participants will learn the necessary know-how for the generation of functional labels for sequence data, design annotation strategies and generate different annotation types as well as evaluate and report the results of the functional annotation pipeline and perform data-mining and knowledge discovery combining functional annotations and experimental data.

Who should attend?
Experimentalists and bioinformaticians working on EST, Next Generation Sequencing and microarray design projects, specially (but not exclusively) of non-model species.

Further information can be found at the course website.

Location : Centro de Investigaciones Príncipe Felipe in Valencia, Spain
